St. Dominic Receives the Holy Rosary from Our Blessed Mother
The following is a revisiting with updated thoughts from a previous post I published on the Holy Rosary back in 2020. And considering the serious times in which we are living, I share the following thoughts unapologetically.
Over the last fifteen years I have written and spoken on the importance of the Holy Rosary -- at parishes, at conferences, theology of tap events, the United States Air Force Academy and on every digital media outlet I am invited to share my thoughts. Basically EVERYWHERE I am invited to speak across America and even as far as the Philippines, I talk about the importance of the Rosary -- especially the FAMILY Rosary.
As I said two years ago when I wrote on the Rosary on this feast of the Holy Rosary, the world is at its most critical moment in history . . . that is NO exaggeration. What has happened since 2020 is beyond anything I thought possible in just two years.
Everything I have written and spoken about for over fifteen years as to where the world is going and that there will be a quickening at the end of this era . . . ALL OF IT has come true and is right before our eyes.
My only apology to many of you is that the many things I spoke of and warned about turned out to be much worse than I predicted.
There is a name to what the world is experiencing right now. It is called the Great Reset. And as is now admitted, Covid was just the "opportunity" that was needed for the architects to announce what they are brazenly calling the Great Reset. These architects include the Founder of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab, Yuval Noval Harari (one of the chief advisors of the WEF) and the political leaders and financial institutions of most of the western countries. This agenda is spoken of under slogans such as "The Fourth Industrial Revolution," "Build Back Better" and the United Nations "Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development."
At the core of their agenda is forcing a global reset of everything (political, economic, moral, religious) under a scientific and health dictatorship -- all in the name of building back a better humanity (without God). The new "God" of the Great Reset is science and through merging human beings with robotics and artificial intelligence, a new humanity with godlike capabilities will replace the current humanity Such is their agenda.
Look it up. Research it yourself and look at what their own writings and interviews boldly claim. I break it all down in my event "War and Peace: Fulton Sheen, Fatima and the Fate of the Family."
No more, “Well that’s just a conspiracy theory!” The conspiracy theories and predictions of years ago pale in comparison to what is unfolding before our very eyes. Few had the insight and foresight of how it would only take something like a "virus"that would be the catalyst for “The Great Reset."
It's right there thrown right in our faces now. No hiding of this agenda anymore. No obscurities. It's right there in front of our faces -- flaunted and in full force now for the total destruction of humanity. Satan know longer hides as a subtle serpent. He is now showing himself as the Leviathan he truly is. He has everything he needs to implement his anti-humanity agenda, including enough of a willing global populace who will comply.
Venerable Fulton Sheen called these times, "the days of the Apocalypse, the last days of our era." St. John Paul the Great called our times "the greatest historical confrontation humanity has gone through." Sr. Lucia of Fatima told us through Cardinal Caffara, "The final battle between God and Satan will be over marriage and the family." Cardinal Caffara confirmed before his death just a few years ago that Sr. Lucia's words are being fulfilled in our very times.
And as we see now, the family is under all-out assault from EVERY angle. From the very meaning of marriage to the very definition of what it means to be male and female -- wherein lie the very IMAGE OF GOD. That's why the war against gender is the final Marxist assault on humanity because if Satan can erase that from society, then he can remake humanity 2.0 in HIS image.
And the name for this end game is called Trans-humanism and it espoused openly be the architects and prophets of the Great Reset.
Yet, we Catholics go on with business as usual. We'll weather this storm... ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND? The casualties are already so many. Physically, from the bio-weapon so many received. Mentally, from uncritical Catholics who have succumbed to the most advanced coordinate global psychological propaganda the world has even witnessed and suffer from Stockholm-Syndrome and depression as they wonder what is wrong with the world. Spiritually, in that recent polls have shown that over 70% of Catholics do not believe in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.
If this preventable reality doesn’t make your blood boil, especially from the quickness within which this has all happened, then nothing will.
As Fulton Sheen said 50 years ago about our times, “the demonic is loose.” Families are being ripped apart, nations divided and thrown into all out societal chaos and now, more than ever, the world is waking up to the reality that what is taking place before our eyes are not the effects of bad policies of this political party or that one, but simply that this is about good versus evil and humanity is now in the fight for its very survival.
Those desperate for hope and a solution please continue reading because there IS hope and a clear answer and a PROMISE that comes with it for those who embrace it....
With that said, I want revisit what I wrote on this answer just a couple of years ago in the hope that it now resonates more than ever because we are now entering the final hour of the revolution between good and evil. So, without further delay . . .
With it being the month of the Holy Rosary and the month of the great miracle of Fatima and it being 2022, I am going to focus on one major point of the message of Fatima that I believe is STILL misunderstood and therefore trivialized and catastrophically neglected by many Catholics because we are overly familiar with it.
When Our Blessed Mother gave the Holy Rosary (in the form we have it today) to St. Dominic, it was to conquer a formidable enemy of the Church, the Albigensians. They were a militant group of heretics who rejected the importance and sanctity of the human body (all matter was evil) that they rejected the truth of the Incarnation. Nothing was able to convert these violent people. Then Our Lady appears to St. Dominic and hands him a rosary and tells him that if he wishes to defeat these and all enemies, preach and pray the rosary.
He did just that and the rosary has become the weapon of choice of heaven and of the Church ever since. We see this especially in its central placement of all the major apparitions of Mary in the last 200 years.
With this in mind, I want to focus on Mary's message on the rosary at Fatima that is so important for us to rediscover for the millionth time for this moment of history.
In every monthly message to the children of Fatima, our Blessed Mother specifically asked the children and the world to pray the Rosary every day. On June 13, 1917, she said:
Say the Rosary every day, to bring peace to the world and the end of the war.
There it is. She said the same thing at the beginning of each of her first three messages to the children.
Do you truly want peace in your heart? Do you truly want peace in your family? Do you truly want peace in your relationship with your spouse? Do you truly want peace in your relationship with your children? Do you truly want peace in your parish? Do you truly want peace in your nation? Do you truly want peace in the Church? Do you truly want peace throughout the world?
Then you need to be praying the Rosary from your heart every day for this peace. Mary made it very clear that God’s plan for peace in the world is entrusted to Mary. On July 13, 1917, she told the children: “Continue to pray the Rosary every day in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary, in order to obtain peace for the world and the end of the war, because only she can obtain it."
So, we see the inseparable role the Rosary plays in God’s plan to bring peace to the world. Why the Rosary and how does it accomplish it? First, we look to the Rosary’s history, which has born witness to its power in shaping the history of Christianity beginning with St. Dominic using the Rosary to crush heresies, defeating the enemies of the Church and exorcise demons.
We see these effects magnified in 1571 when the Rosary was prayed by the whole Holy Roman Empire, at the command of Pope St. Pius V, in order to repel the Moslem invasion at Lepanto in the Mediterranean Sea -- and a miraculous victory was obtained through their praying the rosary. And there have been many miracles of the Rosary since, which show its power for those who pray it with true devotion. Just look up the eight Jesuits who survived Hiroshima because they lived the message of Fatima in their home, praying the Rosary faithfully every day.

The second way the Rosary brings peace is by what it does to the individual and family who prays it. We must never forget that the first war that must be fought and won is in our own hearts, as St. James reminds us:
What causes wars, and what causes fightings among you? Is it not your passions that are at war in your members? . . . Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble." Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you men of double mind. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to dejection. Humble yourselves before the Lord and he will exalt you. [James 4:1-10]
Therefore, Venerable Fulton Sheen tells us in his work Peace of Soul:
If we would remake the world, we must begin by remaking the individual; then the institutions will be good enough, for they will resemble the good men who made them.
Sheen said elsewhere in one of his retreat to priests, "Those who are not at war with themselves are at war with everybody else."How true that is. I am most unhappy when I stop fighting that war and the collateral damage impacts the ones I love most, especially my wife and children.
This is what the Rosary does to us as it occupies our minds as we contemplate the saving mysteries of Christ beginning with Mary’s humility — humility that made her so completely empty of self as to be completely filled with God, literally, at the Annunciation! This is what peace is — the presence of God in the soul —the presence of God that Mary always brings as she did at the Annunciation. That’s why Pope St. Pius X says:
The Rosary is the most beautiful and the most rich in graces of all prayers; it is the prayer that touches most the Heart of the Mother of God…and if you wish peace to reign in your homes, recite the family Rosary.
We now can begin to see why St. Francis de Sales said, “the greatest method of praying is to pray the Rosary.”
And why St. Padre Pio called the Rosary "the weapon."
Why does he use the word “method”? Because the Rosary is meant to be an entirely incarnational prayer experience encompassing the whole Christian — body, mind and spirit. Incarnational prayer has always been a staple to Dominican spirituality. It engages the mind and spirit by meditation and contemplation of the saving mysteries of Jesus Christ. It engages our senses when we finger the beads and while we audibly recite the three greatest prayers: Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be. The more we occupy our whole person in prayer the more it resembles the prayer of Jesus, Who Is Wisdom Incarnate.
Other than the basic structure of prayers and contemplating the prescribed Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful and Glorious mysteries, there is no single way to pray the Rosary. God gave us an intellect to be creative in how we serve Him. Thanks to my wife, I have overcome my own ridiculous rigidity and scrupulosity with saying the Rosary — insisting it must be prayed the same monotonous way every single time — that led to more naps for my family than it did mystical experiences and insights.
One way my family made the Rosary more of an incarnational experience was to actively engage our senses while we pray through the use of essential oils. We use them for practically everything for our family’s health care and since they are so biblically based for both medicinal and ritual use, why not incorporate them in our Rosary prayer?
We engage our senses all the time at Mass with incense and in the use of sacramental oils. Let’s use what God has given us similarly in our family. It’s time we Catholics reclaim what God has given us in His creation to glorify Him and lead us to Him. That is the point of His creation.
It’s time to take back what the New Agers have distorted and direct the use of created things to the true God as we do in our liturgies, sacraments and sacramentals. As Fulton Sheen said, “When the Church drops something, the world picks it up.” So, let’s take back what we have dropped and lead others back to God through them as originally intended!

Another Inspiration of my wife to enhance our family rosary experience stems from her Byzantine roots and her mother teaching her family a Byzantine-style chant of the Rosary.
My family later developed our own version where all of us (even our two-year daughter) chant a different harmony to a simple tone that makes the Rosary and its mysteries come alive because of the beautiful and prayerful singing. Plus, we get the added benefit of “praying twice” (as St. Augustine put it) since our prayer is sung.
At first, I resisted this “Byzantine assault” on my proud Roman upbringing. After I decided to mature about this and open up, I helped develop our own version of the chant and I quickly discovered that it was really my favorite way to pray the Rosary — and it still is!
Then leave it to my wife also to insist that we then record the family Rosary chanted this way so that other families can learn a new way to pray the Rosary that engages everyone and with beauty. We now joke of how the recording experience almost destroyed my family (try recording something for the world to hear where all five kids --at that time-- from ages 14 to 2 are all perfectly behaved!).

If you are still struggling to make the Rosary part of your daily family prayer life, I leave you with extremely hopeful words from Sr. Lucia of Fatima —words I always turn to when I pick up the Rosary to pray for the special needs of my family and friends:
The Most Holy Virgin in these last times in which we live has given a new efficacy to the recitation of the Rosary to such an extent that there is no problem, no matter how difficult it is, whether temporal or above all spiritual, in the personal life of each one of us, of our families...that cannot be solved by the Rosary. There is no problem, I tell you, no matter how difficult it is, that we cannot resolve by the prayer of the Holy Rosary.
In closing, we live in urgent times. It's time our spiritual life reflect this in everything we do, especially in our homes.
And men, step up and start leading your families in praying the Holy Rosary. You ARE the spiritual head of your family. It's not an invitation. It's an obligation. It should be an honor we embrace with all our heart, mind, soul and strength.
It is how we can accomplish in our families the central words of the Our Father: "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."
To quote William Wallace to Robert the Bruce in Braveheart:"If we fight we will win. If we win we will have what none of us have had before....If you would will just lead them, they will follow you...And so would I."
Now, let’s do what Our Blessed Mother lovingly, but firmly, told us to do to win to stop wars and bring peace and pray . . .
